Fishing is picking up on the Uppr Owens River & the East Walker River with trophy fish migrating out of the lake. Don’t miss some of the best fishing of the year!

From our Head Guide, David Downs:

I have a vast knowledge of fly fishing the Eastern Sierras – from moving water to stillwater fisheries. The rivers and lakes in the area around Bishop and Mammoth are loaded with trophy brown and rainbow trout, and after 15 years of fishing the Eastern Sierras I still love sharing these waters with our clients!

In addition to boat trips on Crowley Lake, we offer walk & wade trips on moving water and fly casting lessons for beginners looking to learn how to fly fish. During the winter months, we have the opportunity to use snowmobiles to access the Upper Owens River to target trophy trout. Don’t let the colder weather scare you, these trips are a blast!

Our specialty is the increasingly popular euro nymphing technique on our local rivers and creeks – like the Upper & Lower Owens River, East & West Walker Rivers, and many more.

If you’re visiting the area or planning your next fishing adventure, we hope you’ll join us at Get Bent Outfitters!

Rivers & Creeks

The elevation of the Eastern Sierras and the Crowley Lake watershed combine to create a diverse trout fishery, giving us plenty of options to fish rivers & creeks of different sizes and settings. Poke around every bend or undercut bank of a meandering meadow stream with a mountainanous backdrop, or work up a smaller mountain creek with large boulders and pines. The average size, depth, and flows of our moving water here in the Eastern Sierras lends itself perfectly to euro nymphing techniques – and the trout love it. We’ll help create the ideal day for you based on your preferred fishing style and experience level!

Crowley Lake

If it’s big trout and the potential for big numbers that you’re after (without the walk/wade effort!), Crowley Lake should be at the top of your list. It’s got everything we’re looking for – elevation, depth, cool temps, loads of insects, and numerous feeder creeks – all which combine for fantastic year-round fishing for trophy brown and rainbow trout. The state also has special regulations in place from August through October limiting the fishing to barbless & articial-only and reducing the limit to 2 fish over 18″, which helps the population grow nice and fat! Crowley Lake is a must-fish spot for any angler visiting the Eastern Sierras.
